SUNSHIELD
is a unique formulation of Pure Acrylic
Resins which provides high flexibility
to the paint to prevent peeling of flaking,
Special Biocides to prevent algae and
fungal growth which means no more black
and ugly patches, micronised pigments
and extenders to provide a smooth finish
and a high content of titanium dioxide
to provide a glowing look. It is designed
to protect the exterior walls from the
vagaries of hard weather conditions, be
it continuous rainfall, chilling winters
or scorching summers.
SUNSHIELD
is formulated using the best world class
raw materials for optimum exterior performance.
The resin base which is 100% pure acrylic
emulsion with a combination of silicon
emulsion has excellent alkali resistance,
binding and weather ability. Pigmentation
is done by the use of best quality rutile
titanium dioxide, acid-alkali, light fast
and highly stable inorganic and organic
pigments ensuring the richest of hiding
and colour stability.
Use of additives to improve the performance
of the films like film formation, stretchability,
dust/dirt pick-up, water vapour permeability
and prevention of algae-fungi growth are
done with the best of materials.
All these and the excellent colour retention
properties makes SUNSHIELD
an all weather resistant coating designed
to give your building exterior a permanent
original look for years.
SUNSHIELD
can be used on all residential and commerical
complexes. it can be applied directly
on concrete, cement renderings and sand
faced plasters, fair faced stone / brick
works, wood, plywood, primed steel/galvanized
steel and asbestos cement sheets. |
For
obtaining optimum results from SUNSHIELD,
it is necessary to ensure the following points.
- The
surface to be painted should be dry, clean
and free from any dirt, loose paint, chalk,
grease, fungus and algae. This can be achieved
by cleaning the surface thoroughly with a
wire brush followed by water jetting.
- Where
there is excessive fungal growth treatment
with an antifungal solution is recommended,
eg., bleaching powder (1% solution)
- Plug
all water leakages and seepages completely
before painting.
- Surfaces
previously painted with oil paint should be
scraped thoroughly or burnt to have a proper
surface roughness.
- Do
not use putty or cement primer on the area
to be painted. Only Cement plaster should
be used for filling up cracks and leveling
the substrate.
- Use
a clean brush, roller or sprayer for applying
the paint.
Directions
for Use:
Surface
Preparation:
Ensure that the surface is throughly clean and
free all dirt, dust and loose paint. This can
be achieved by rubbing with a wire brush or a
stiff coir brush followed by water spraying. Use
a solution if Bio-Wash to eradicate algae and
fungal growth. Avoid use of putty or other filling
compounds and use only sand / sement mix for cracks
and leveling.
Priming:
Do not apply and kind of primers. For a better
coverage on difficult surfaces use coat of 'SUNCEM
GOLD' cement paint as a base coat. For friable
old surfaces one coat of 'SUNSOL' stabilizing
solution can be used.
Finishing:
Apply two coats of 'SUNSHIELD'
for normal, sound surfaces with 2-4 hours of intervals
between each coat. For parapet walls three coats
of 'SUNSHIELD'
should be applied. SUNSHIELD
should be thinned using clean potable water only.
For 2 parts of paints one part of water by volume
can be added. i:e for 20 Ltrs pf Paint 8-10 Ltrs
can be added. 'SUNSHIELD'
is suitable for application by brush, spray or
roller.
Coverage:
Approx. 60-80 sq.ft/Ltr (i:e 5.5-7.5 sq.mtrs./Ltr)
in 2 coats depending on the suction & porosity
of the surface.
Shades:
35 colours as shown in the shade card are readily
available. Special shades can be manufactured
on a minimum order of 100 Ltrs.
